UN inspectors have visited a formerly secret uranium enrichment site which has raised Western suspicions about the extent of Iran's nuclear programme, an Iranian news agency have said It was the world's first look inside the heavily protected plant, which is being built inside a mountainside near the holy city of Qom, south of Tehran. The Mehr news agency says the inspectors examined the facility today, more than a month after Iran disclosed the site to the UN nuclear watchdog. The inspection comes as the US and its allies wait for Iran's decision on a UN-brokered plan to send most of the country's uranium to Russia for enrichment. The West says the deal would ease fears about Iran's ability to make weapons-grade fuel.
