Sports science incorporates scientific research into athletic endeavors. Sports science focuses on maximizing performance and endurance while lowering the risk of injury as athletes train for events and contests. In order to tailor a training regimen for everyone from elite athletes to senior citizens and everyone in between, sports science can be used to help identify the strengths and weaknesses of the athletes. Athletes are kept up to speed with the most recent training regimens, testing, and preparation by sports scientists.
