It's not only the power bills that are not real, I got my BT phone bill a few days ago, it was £56, I hardly ever use it because I have a mobile with 600 min per month free. The thing that upset me was that out of that massive amount of £56 only 7 of all that was calls, yes £7 out of 56 quid, the rest is made up of a massive rental per qut of over £36 plus VAT on top, no wonder people are leaving BT and going to Talk Talk or SKY for phone & TV these days.

The Utility Warehouse has had to put its line rental up from £8.99 to £9.90 a month because BT raised its prices to all alternative providers. by £1.00.
BT charge 12.50 a month line rental, but if you pay by quarterley bill instead of monthly direct debit they add on another £4.50. That still only comes to £42 so don`t know why you`d pay £49?
So save £4.50 by going monthly with BT or switch to the Utility Warehouse and pay £29.70 a quarter instead of £49.
With the Utility Warehouse you would have to pay by monthly direct debit though and there are still a lot of people who prefer to pay a large amount every quarter rather than a little bit every month.

Yes the public have a number of options these days, but BT still dominates the UK market, as no matter who your with BT holds all the cards, so though the UK government says we have Independence from BT it's not true, because all the companies have to pay BT the same high rental m money because BT still owns the lines. We are being ripped off by one giant firm.
